The 'butterfly blush'; is a common sight along railway lines and waste ground in the UK, though it was originally introduced from China in the 1890s. Helena Lee found this specimen on Bridgewater Street, a side street of Manchester Museum, just off the Oxford Road Corridor.

There are several beehives installed on rooftops along Oxford Road and just like the communities that go up and down this stretch. Helena imagines bees and other insects gathering nectar and pollen along the pollinator's highway.

Helena Lee is a photographic artist living in Manchester who celebrates the beauty and wonder of nature through her artwork. Her photos are taken during local nature walks or from her own garden. All of her products are made using environmentally sustainable materials.
