Michelle Olivier is a Manchester based UK born artist whose family emigrated from India in the 1950s. Her work falls into two main categories: art which explores how mixed-race people and relationships are represented, and art, figurative and non-figurative, which is inspired by the natural world.

This work is an artistic rendition of a family photograph taken in 1953, which depicts 8 friends of the artist's mother.​​

​She completed the MA course in Contemporary Fine Art at The University of Salford in 2018 and is currently part of the South Asia Gallery Collective (SAGC) and featured within the South Asia Gallery at Manchester Museum.
