Tagua Elephant Pendant

  • £26.00
Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

This gorgeous Tagua Elephant pendant is hand carved from a tagua nut, a seed from a type of palm that grows in the South American rainforests.

Often known as vegetable ivory, tagua is an environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative to animal ivory.  A nut is selected that is as close to the desired finished shape as possible, which is then formed using a variety of sanding processes and polished to achieve a smooth surface.

Just Trades distinctive products are made with care and skill from locally-sourced and ethical materials where possible. This pendant is handmade by Carlos in Sasote, Ecuador.
