The Sculpts Museum Tile: A for Archaeology

  • £35.00
Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

Manchester Museum’s Archaeology collection is filled with fascinating objects, which tell the stories of people from the past. The tile shows objects excavated locally, including the Manchester Word Square, from the Roman fort at Castlefield, thought to be among the earliest evidence of Christianity in Britain. And from further afield, a Corinthian helmet brings to life the battlefields of the ancient Greeks. Archaeological objects can inspire empathy and foster an appreciation of diverse cultures and our shared humanity.

The A tile connects with unique objects that tell stories of the past, but also have so much to contribute to the understanding and working out of some of the greatest challenges of our time, including human migration and the climate crisis.

Each Tile is designed in Manchester by The Sculpts. The tiles are screen printed and hand-rolled in Stoke-on-Trent, before being fired in Manchester-local kilns.
